Who we are
Digital Engineering Works Ltd (DEWorks) is a growing team of highly skilled and dedicated Digital Engineers, BIM Managers, BIM Technicians and Laser Scanning Surveyors with decades of experience. With some of us starting in the industry on drawing boards with set squares to now using state-of-the-art design software and hardware with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
We can provide assistance for the various stages of construction, from the initial design to the final handover and into the facility management. Our experience working with skilled design consultants and contractors has provided us with invaluable knowledge and expertise of these sectors over.
As a highly skilled and very knowledgeable, hard-working team with decades of experience in the industry. Working across multiple sectors from small complicated heritage refurbishments to large multi-million-pound research and development centres, hospitals, pharmaceuticals and power stations. Our in-house expert team have the skills and knowledge to make it work.
Using the latest technologies and industry standards, we can provide an array of services to suit your needs, whether its fully coordinated 3D asset information models, a laser scan survey or a DfMA detailed service plan.
Using the latest technology in 3D Laser Scanners and Realty Capture hardware used by skilled operatives and surveyors. We can quickly capture high-quality data for use as a point cloud, mesh or scan to BIM.
Our design and modelling software allows for comprehensive designs and models to be created, including working drawings, presentation layouts, and detailed walk-throughs. By using the best software available, we can quickly bring design ideas to life and make them easier to understand.
What we do
Building Information Modelling (BIM) / Asset Information Modelling (AIM)
We work primarily but are not limited to the MEP sector working closely with the contractor and integrating as part of their own team. Assisting or fully managing the Building Information Model (BIM) development from early stages (RIBA Stage 3) to Handover (RIBA Stage 6) fully compliant with ISO19650 and coordinated to a level of detail as required for the project.
We work closely and collaboratively with the wider design and construction teams, across multiple or single platforms as required. We have for some clients taken on the full CDE system management and training as required.
We are also very experienced and effective at Asset Model Authoring and management compliant to ISO19650 for the authoring of Asset Date deliverables such as COBie, NRM, Uniclass, etc
We have a wealth of experience developing models and drawing data for Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) from Fabrication Parts for pipe spools and CAMduct nested patterns to Plant Skids, M&E Modules and Prefabricated Plantrooms.
Laser Scan Surveying Services
High-quality data capturing with the best 3D laser scanning technology, we are highly experienced with onsite laser scanning data capture and specialising in the MEP Building Services we understand the requirements involved for building services. We work efficiently and effectively working through sites to capture data accurately with minimal disruption to the owners and occupiers in the shortest time frame possible.
We have conducted a number of complicated laser scan surveys such as existing operational hospital A&E departments including their ceiling voids. We have also conducted laser scans in sensitive areas on R&D Pharmaceutical, MoJ and MoD sites and complied with the project security requirements. Our client trust and discretion mean a lot to us and as such we don’t publicly discuss or share client or project details without written agreement.
We can supply the laser scan data as point clouds in a number of compatible formats, or we can provide a conversion service of the point cloud to a 3D textured mesh (Scan to Mesh) or as a Building Information Model (Scan to BIM).
Research & Developments (R&D)
Over the past 5 years, we have started on our own in-house R&D projects. We are keen to find better ways and processes to produce and work with data from the early design stages with basic AI algorithms to facilities data management with in-house developed NFC systems. And we are expanding our R&D into the field of reality capture and 3D Printing for DfMA.
Our Future
Digital Engineering Works is looking forward to expanding and growing our team with new experience members, adding their knowledge and skills to the Digital Engineering Works team. And we look forward to starting new trainees on their career path, learning for the highly skilled and knowledgeable team we have, and equally learning new skills from the new members. All working collaboratively together and share knowledge with our team and clients while delivering a high-quality service.
